Amy Adams’ “bold” premiere look has been explained.
The 39-year-old actress looked much younger than her years on the red carpet for American Hustle in Los Angeles this week, with a youthful complexion, teamed with smoky eyeliner to give her a vampy look.
Her red carpet look was created by make-up artist Stephen Sollitto for Laura Mercier, who explains how he achieved her “bold, unabashed look.”
Taking inspiration from her David Koma gown; a monochrome pencil dress with a sheer white panel at the bottom, he emphasized her eyes bringing the outfit together.
“I always try to incorporate a colour or style from the dress into the make-up look,” Stephen told Access Hollywood. “Although the dress is simple black and white, a bold, overall look with a strong eye spoke to me.”
Her face was moisturised before a primer was applied to her skin. Then the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser in Natural gave the actress an illuminated and flawless complexion.
He used Laura Mercier Creme Cheek Colour in Praline to “warm her skin and create a perfect, neutral cheek”.
Strong, eyes set the make-up off. Soft sparkle effect eye shadow was used, along with liquid eyeliner and lashing of black mascara.
The last stage for the eye make-up was one stroke of the “frosty mint” Laura Mercier Illuminating Eye Colour in Crystal Fantasy to her inner eyelids adding light to the corners of her eyes.
A neutral lip was all that was needed, allowing the eyes to be the focal point of the whole face.
The star’s flaming locks were worn sleek and straight with a centre part, framing her grown-up make-up look.
