Amy Adams Leads the Red Pack

71st Annual Golden Globe Awards, Arrivals, Los Angeles, America - 12 Jan 2014. Red Dress at Red Carpet.

Amy Adams wowed at the Golden Globes in a two-toned red plunging gown last night.

The 39-year-old actress hit the red carpet in a plunging Valentino dress teamed with a braided up do.

The deep cut of the dress gave a nod to her character Sydney in American Hustle, for which she picked up the gong for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.

She wasn’t the only starlet who opted for red at the awards show held in Los Angeles.

Harry Potter star Emma Watson sported an unusual completely backless red Dior dress with hidden navy capri pants.

12 Years a Slave’s Lupita Nyong’o also looked stunning in a bright Ralph Lauren off-the-shoulder frock.

Simple studs and minimal fuss meant the actress let the dress do the talking and made her a fashionista in the making.

Taylor Swift went for a pinker hue blocked with red by choosing her Carolina Herrera strapless frock.

Coupled with classic waved hair, the singer oozed old Hollywood glamour.

Hosts Amy Poehler and Tina Fey didn’t disappoint in the style stakes either.

Amy wore two black dresses, one for the red carpet and one for her hosting duties, while Tina turned up in black dress with pink flowers before switching into a strapless red number for the ceremony itself.

Red wasn’t the only colour to adorn the red carpet, blue hues were also popular.

Reese Witherspoon wore a sleek sleeveless turquoise Calvin Klein dress which showed off the mother-of-three’s svelte figure.

Johnny Depp’s rumoured girlfriend, actress Amber Heard, wore a navy one-shouldered Versace dress which was slashed to the thigh, showing off her toned legs.

The ceremony took place at the Beverley Hilton Hotel and stars had to dodge the rain soaked red carpet to make their way into the ceremony.
