Top model endorsement
Supermodel Claudia Schiffer is the latest runway star to launch her own beauty line.
The German beauty has recently released a haircare line with Schwarzkopf.
Essence Ultime includes shampoos, conditioners, masks, oils and balms – as well as a range of dyes including Schiffer’s own shimmering blonde shade.
Claudia is far from the first supermodel to wield power in the beauty world.
Here are some of the biggest and best beauty launches.
Brazilian superstar Gisele launched Sejaa Pure Skincare in 2010. It’s a collection which uses all-natural ingredients and calming fragrances, packaged in recycled paper to leave as little impact on the environment as possible. Named after the Portuguese word ‘seja’, which means ‘to be’ and is Gisele’s first language, Sejaa’s philosophy is to create products that nourish the skin, mind, body and soul. The line includes a day cream, night cream and mud mask.
In 2009, Australian beauty Miranda launched Kora Organics, a beauty range packed with certified organic ingredients, vegan, cruelty-free and non-toxic goodies.
“I launched Kora Organics following four years of product development with my organic pharmacist,” Miranda told Vogue.
“I spent years trying and testing the formulas myself until I was 100 per cent satisfied – I think it’s very important to know and make educated decisions about what you put on your skin.”
One of the original Big Six supermodels, Cindy Crawford seems to defy the ageing process. She teamed up with top dermatologist Dr Sebagh to launch her very own youth-boosting beauty line Meaningful Beauty in 2004.
Known for her voluminous blonde locks, model-and-actress Christie Brinkley launched her own line of wigs and hair extensions last year. “I always say, the bigger the hair, the smaller the hips,” Christie said at the brand’s launch in October.
