Ensure you always have beautiful hands: 4 Tips That Will Ensure You Always Have Them

As with the skin-care products, hand creams are not necessarily better for being expensive.

Tip 1. Have several bottles of the cheaper brands of lotion placed strategically around the house than to rely entirely on the one luxury bottle that you eke out nervously drop by drop.

Tip 2. Adopt the “hand-cream habit”. It can be easily adopted when bottles are placed in positions where it is easier to remember to use the cream: by the bed, by the kitchen sink, by the bathroom sink, etc.

Tip 3. Last thing at night: massage in some hand cream. This should not take long; simply smooth on to the fronts and the backs of the hands, and massage each finger quickly. Always remember to bend the fingers backwards with the other hand and pull each finger gently to keep the joints flexible.

Lanolin is an excellent hand-softener. It is also beneficial when working with the cuticles as well.

Tip 4: Use “the miracle wash secret”. Dry, hard, dirt-ingrained or neglected hands can be subjected to a “miracle wash” using a combination of sugar and vegetable oil. This advice is given in `The Natural Beauty Book` written by Clare Maxwell-Hudson, and is very effective.

The Miracle Wash Secret Recipe

The process is as follows:

Simply pour a little oil (maize, peanut or olive) into the palm of the hand and add a tablespoon or so of sugar. Rub the mixture all over the hands, really working it in, especially in the rougher areas. Rinse with warm water, dry, and then massage in a little hand cream.
