We are so lucky to live in Sydney, we have access to a very large number of beauty treatments. These treatments go from all different ranges of prices, from traditional beauty therapy to more sophisticated treatments offered by cosmetic surgeons at cosmetic clinics and beauty spas.
It took me a while to understand all what is available out there so we (women) can receive the benefits that all these cosmetic and traditional treatments offer to us.
I thought it was a good idea to put everything together and later on go into the details of all of them. Hopefully, I will get some insight from professionals in the field so they can answer our questions on how each particular treatment can help us to look at our best and most importantly contribute to be happy with ourselves.
Beauty Businesses in Sydney
I believe that the best way to start explaining this is by understanding what kind of businesses are here in the beautiful city of Sydney that are totally devoted to help women look pretty.
In my opinion there are
4 5 main beauty businesses for the Sydney ladies to consider for a beautifying treatment.
1. Hair Salons
2. Beauty Salons
3. Cosmetic Clinics
4. Beauty Spas
5. Cosmetic Surgeons Rooms
There are also individual professionals that work in the industry doing things such as:
- Beauty Therapists
- Mobile Hairdressers
- Make Up Artists
- Cosmetic Tattoo Professionals
Beauty Businesses have become more and more specialized, s we all can observe just by walking on the streets of Sydney. Today we can find very specialized businesses that only offer one particular beauty treatment such as:
What kind of treatments are available on each beauty business?
Although the name is pretty much very self explanatory hair salons are about hair. Hairdressers offer all different kinds of hair services from hair cuts to perming. These days hair salons offer a larger number of options for women who come for a hair salon. Some hair salons also offer beauty treatments that can go from services like: manicures, pedicures, facials but some of them are even offering botox and laser hair removal. The majority of hair salons though tend to specialize in hair and some of them have an extra specialization like: hair colouring, cheap hair cuts, keratine treatments, Japanese hair straightening.
Beauty Salons in Sydney offer a wide variety of treatments. These businesses used to offer the most traditional beauty therapies but today some of them are also offering cosmedic treatments that involve much sophisticated technologies. Women used to go to the beauty therapist for a facial, eyebrow waxing, waxing treatments and similar procedures. Today some sophisticated beauty salons offer also laser hair removal, botox injections, etc. Depending on the salon some beauty salons also offer hair cuts. In regards to nails procedures such as manicures, pedicures and acrylic nails we have observed that this is a business that has become more specialized. We can find pure nail salons in popular shopping centres around Australia (and of course in Sydney) and in busy suburbs you can also find local Nail Salons.
This kind of businesses has become a very popular one and new in a way. These are the beauty businesses that have emerged that are fully specialized in Medical Cosmetic Treatments. These clinics are highly equipped and have invested large sums of money in beauty equipment (some of them). Many of these clinics are owned by cosmetic doctors. These clinics offer invasive and non-invasive treatments such as lasers and botox. Some of this clinics also perform cosmetic surgeries or they refer you from there to see their doctors.
Beauty Spas are also a kind of new trend among women in Sydney who want to get pampered and receive a beauty treatment at the same time. Beauty Spas offer natural therapy treatments such as massage, aromatherapy and reflexology but you can also get a facial or a body wrap. Women devote some dollars to feel and look better. Although beauty spas advertise themselves as retreats and mention things such as ‘ayurvedic’, ‘natural treatments’, etc. many of them also offer more sophisticated treatments such as laser and dermal fillers. Most of them also offer traditional beauty treatments such as facials, pedicures, waxing, etc.
What I have observed is that the line between health and beauty is very fine. The beauty industry is very profitable. Doctors are moving more and more from the pure medical line to a more Cosmedical Offer. Cosmetic Surgeons and even Dermatologists are offering a large number of treatments for women who want to look and feel good about themselves. It is interesting to observe that the services offered by cosmetic doctors is very similar now to what you can find in a beauty spa or cosmetic clinic. On top of non-surgical treatments doctors can also offer cosmetic surgery procedures (ideally when it is advisable).
As you can see our options in Sydney are very wide when it comes to beauty treatments. We are lucky to have all those many alternatives to choose from. The only problem is that it can also be confusing to choose what is the best for you and who to go.
There is no a definite answer on what is the best treatment or the best beauty or health professional to be treated by. It all depends on the individual situation and expectations.
Sydney4Women what intends is to help women make the decisions that best suit them by providing them with the alternatives that are available for them and once they are understood each lady can decide where to go, what beauty business is better for her own particular case.
I (Karina) have been working hard on putting all of these together. It has taken me a long journey to understand the ‘tricky business of beauty’ but I feel obliged now to share all what I have learned with the Sydney Women Community.
Please feel free to leave your comments and share your thoughts. If you want us to talk about any particular treatment I will be more than happy to do that or to contact an authority in the topic to speak about any beauty/health issue that concerns my Sydney Women.
