Beyoncé Knowles is a “creative source”, says her manicurist.
Lisa Logan often tends to the nails of the rich and famous and preened Beyoncé’s hands for Sunday night’s Grammy Awards.
Walking the red carpet before she hit the stage to perform with her husband Jay Z, the 32-year-old singer looked stunning in a white lace Michael Costello gown, complete with Loraine Schwartz jewels on her fingers. Her long nails were painted in a burgundy hue, which she’d specifically asked Lisa for.
“She did make [sure to] mention she wanted between a red and a purple. She’s a creative source. So it helps us pull our best and bring her vision to life. It’s a bunch of moving parts and each and every one of us has a part to bring to life what her vision is. I’m not going to walk into a room and say ‘Orange is a new colour!’ and push it on her if that’s not what she wants,” Lisa told people.com.
“I put the [Sephora's Formula X collection] Pedal to the Metal on her nails first, and we all agreed how gorgeous it was. Then I swiped the red glitter Atom + Eve over it and it deepened to, like, a red-purple. It was beautiful.”
For Lisa, Beyoncé is a dream client to work with and loves to experiment with nail trends.
Though she went for quite a reserved nail look at the Grammys, Lisa says in her spare time Beyoncé likes to have fun with colour and design.
“She’s totally a fun girl when it comes to her nails. We haven’t been doing a lot of design lately, but when we did the series of music videos there were a lot of times that we did really cool, fun designs,” she remarked.
“I feel she has evolved in every sense of the word. She’s a sexier wife, a more daring sexier mom. She’s not like, ‘Now I’m wearing nude nails, because I’m a mom.’ She’s a youthful spirit she knows how to have fun and still be tasteful. If she doesn’t have a design on every nail she still chooses a fun colour. She has an eye for colour and style.”
