Cate Blanchett shimmered in silver at the 2013 New York Film Critics Circle Awards last night.
The Australian actress arrived at the Big Apple’s The Edison Ballroom in a stunning gown by Antonio Berardi’s pre-fall 2014 collection. The metallic number featured a pleated hem, a structured bodice and Cate added a matching sculptural jacket over the top.
To add to the glamorous look the blonde star wore black Christian Louboutin ‘So Kate’ patent leather pumps, Van Cleef & Arpels jewels and a Lanvin clutch bag.
Keeping her make-up simple with a spot of mascara and pale pink lipstick, Cate scooped her hair back into a messy bun which added a relaxed touch to her overall appearance.
In an equally elegant and textured number was British actress Sally Hawkins. The brunette beauty had her long locks curled and pulled over her forehead in a classic style to match her long-sleeved peach dress.
Holding a small clutch bag and wearing a pair of nude heels Sally looked thrilled to pose next to her Blue Jasmine co-star Cate, who won best actress at the ceremony for her role in the Woody Allen movie.
Octavia Spencer opted to wear a sultrier outfit for the event. The 43-year-old actress dazzled in a black silk wrap dress with a sparkling embellishment around her waist. The dark colour matched her raven hair perfectly, which was styled into tight curls.
Keeping all eyes on her ensemble Octavia didn’t wear any visible jewellery and added just a slick of eye shadow for a spot of colour.
