Famous people also bit their nails when they are nervous.
Erdem Moralioglu still gets so nervous he bites his nails.
The designer has been promoting his pre-Fall/Winter 14 collection of late, which is full of mix and match pieces which he hopes can be combined to offer an extensive, and one-of-a-kind, wardrobe. It features lace, suede and silk, with embellishment coming courtesy of jewels.
Although it was incredibly well received, Erdem still worries about how successful it will be when it hits stores in May.
“Probably to worry less,” he told vogue.co.uk, when asked what advice he’d give his younger self. “I still worry about things, I still bite my nails – I think my advice would probably be to just relax a bit more.”
The designer wanted his pre-collection to be suitable for women of all ages, no matter what their lifestyle. It means he doesn’t believe in prescribed rules, instead inviting ladies to get creative when dressing in his pieces.
“I like the idea of a bit of eveningwear for day or an evening dress with flats,” he explained.
Erdem was once known mostly for dresses but has shown he also has a talent for tailoring thanks to his well-cut trousers. The idea with this line was to create investment pieces which could be worn over and over again without going out of style.
The designer is currently preparing to show his Fall/Winter 14 line at London Fashion Week next month, but wouldn’t be drawn on whether there are any hidden hints about the line in his pre-collection.
“I like to keep the collections separate,” he said. “But I can’t wait to show it to you.”
