Coco Rocha’s Grammy bashing

Diane Von Furstenberg Journey of a Dress 40th Anniversary Party, Los Angeles, America - 10 Jan 2014. The GRAMMYs like a really bad wedding DJ?

Coco Rocha has compared the Grammys to a “really bad wedding DJ”.

The Canadian model took to her Twitter account to post a running commentary of what she thought of this year’s award shows, which honours the music world for its achievements.

Among her witty posts, the 25-year-old commented on some of the style on display last night, as well as questioning the dance routines.

“who clears the dance floor with every other song,” she posted to her followers.

“#RingoStarr’s fashion is on point though. #GRAMMYs

“Who was @beyonce pointing to #GRAMMYs!?”

She also joked that she thought Daft Punk were lip syncing. The French electronic music duo is renowned for wearing helmets, disguising their faces.

Last night they scooped the awards for Album of the Year and Best Dance/Electronica Album for Random Access Memories. They also took home Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Record of the Year for Get Lucky, featuring Pharrell Williams.

“But were #DaftPunk lip syncing though? #Grammys,” Coco remarked.

She’d earlier said they reminded her of an Oscar-winning actor, telling fans: “#DaftPunk are basically the Daniel Day Lewis of music #Grammys. (sic)”

It seems Coco relished her role as unofficial narrator of the Grammys, although she’d previously questioned whether she should watch the ceremony or indulge in period drama Downton Abbey.

“Uh oh… It’s almost 9pm. Do I switch to #DowntonAbbey or stick with the #GRAMMYs!? Tell me!! (sic)” she wrote.

Coco is currently appearing on TV screens as a mentor on reality show The Face. The season premiered on American TV last year, and also features Naomi Campbell and Karolína Kurková.
