Erin O’Connor calls “out-of-season” clothing “vintage”.
The model is one of the best known faces in the industry and recently served as a mentor on the UK edition of The Face alongside Naomi Campbell and Caroline Winberg.
She always looks immaculate on screen and at events and the 35-year-old admits she has a trick for making older clothes appear desirable.
“My failsafe party outfit is an old ’40s-esque Louis Vuitton tea dress. It delivers curves in all the right places,” she smiled to the latest edition of UK InStyle.
“I don’t buy into that ‘it’s out of season’ lark – I say it’s vintage!”
While the dress is often the main event, Erin also pays attention to accessories.
Handbags are one of her favourite items.
“I love to work an outfit around an amazing bag,” she explained.
“My current favourite is Radley’s yellow Clayton as it’s so unapologetic. A good way to evolve your wardrobe is to stick to a template that complements your shape and update the look with different accessories.”
In the past, Erin has modelled for the likes of John Galliano, Christian Dior and Miu Miu.
The fashion star revealed her favourite people in the industry.
“Alexander McQueen was my favourite designer to walk the runway for. He taught me the importance of using emotion to make a show dramatic,” she remembered.
“My designer of the moment is Simone Rocha, as I love anarchic twist on femininity. I am also mad about Zac Posen, Christopher Kane and J.W. Anderson.”
