Gwendoline Christie proud of nude shoot

20th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, Arrivals, Los Angeles, America - 18 Jan 2014.

Gwendoline Christie posed naked because she wanted to show herself      “warts and all”.

The Game of Thrones star is 6ft. 3ins. and while she’s celebrated for      that now, she initially found it hard being so much taller than many      others.

She took part in a nude photoshoot for Penny Borland called Bunny when      she was 20 and the star explained why she posed for the daring pictures.

“I thought I only wanted to take my clothes off if I had an amazing      body and I didn’t,” she admitted to Elle magazine.

“But there was another part of me – intellectual or intuitive – that      said, ‘This is exactly why you should do it. We can examine female beauty      in a different way, and this is me, warts and all.’”

Gwendoline has always had a keen interest in fashion and loved      dressing up like ‘50s stars when she was younger.

Her favourite look was ultra-glamorous, with long curled hair.

“I loved screen legends and the idea of a nightlife underworld,” she      shared.

The actress, who plays Brienne of Tarth in Game of Thrones, is thought      to be dating UK fashion star Giles Deacon.

She remained coy about the situation and gave a diplomatic answer when     asked if he was one of her favourite designers.

“All I will say is that I think Giles Deacon is an exceptional man,      and exceptionally talented, and a true and brilliant individual. And      that’s it,” she said.

When asked if he makes clothes for her she remained firm.

“Lots of designers have made clothes for me ever since I came to      London,” she shrugged.

“Which is very generous because I’m not a sample size, so they have to      spend a lot more money on fabric.”
