Kanye West has blasted former Dior designer Hedi Slimane for not treating him like a “god”.
The Yeezus singer wasn’t impressed with Hedi’s apparent need to control the star.
The pair, who enjoyed a professional relationship, came to blows when Hedi reportedly tried to dictate what fashion shows Kanye could attend.
“When he told me you can come to my show, but you can’t come to see Phoebe [Philo] and you can’t come to see Riccardo [Tisci], that was odd. He tried to control me! He tried to tell me where I could go!” Kanye fumed onstage this weekend and Madison Square Garden.
Kanye was in New York performing as part of his Yeezus tour, and didn’t hold back on his views of former “friend” Hedi.
Revealing that he once respected the designer, who is the current creative director for Saint Laurent, he heaped praise on his talent and also his direct attitude.
“He was once a friend of mine, in the time of Christian Dior. And I used to wear his tight-a*s jeans when I was on tour and get called names for it… And Hedi Slimane was a god who didn’t serve no bull s**t. But it takes a god to recognise another god,” he declared.
The 36-year-old singing star also took a shot at sports brand Nike, specifically its CEO Mark Parker.
He declared that on Monday he’ll announce a collaboration with sports rival Adidas, who have given him an opportunity to create
“Mark Parker tried to son me. Yes, son me, because I am the sun and I will shine bright. And when I don’t have as much money as a billionaire, and when I don’t have the factories that that dude has over there, what I do have is my voice.
Ain’t no corporation that can take me away from my voice and I’m going to scream at the top of my motherf**king mountain as loud as I want. Anything I want. Whenever I want. Is that crazy?” he asked his audience.
