Kate Moss is reportedly throwing a “big bang” themed 40th birthday party.
The British supermodel reaches the landmark age on January 16 and is determined to mark it properly. She is having three different celebrations, the first of which will be the most raucous.
“Kate loves to party and has told pals her first celebration will have a ‘big bang’ theme – i.e. she wants her 30s to go out with a bang!” an insider laughed to British magazine Closer. “She plans to hire out a penthouse apartment in a London hotel, and has already lined-up a top DJ. There are loads of big fashion and music names on the guest list – she wants it to be her wildest bash yet.”
Previously it was claimed the star would be celebrating her special day on Sir Richard Branson’s private Necker Island, so it is unclear whether the London bash will happen before or after her birthday.
Kate married The Kills rocker Jamie Hince in July 2011 and also has daughter Lila Grace with her ex-partner Jefferson Hack. As much as she loves partying the star takes her home life seriously too, so was thrilled to hear her husband had planned something more low-key for her birthday.
“Jamie and Kate are flying out to the mountains in Verbier, Switzerland, for a romantic break. When they get back to London, the pair have organised a glam cocktail party. It’ll be a much more tame affair and Kate thinks it’s the perfect elegant introduction to her 40s,” the insider explained.
The couple’s trip to Switzerland will be a skiing holiday and Jamie is also taking Kate and Lila out for a birthday meal. Once they return home, the drinks reception will be a typically enchanting affair as it has a vintage Hollywood theme.
The model showed she is still one to watch when her latest campaign for Rimmel was released yesterday. She is seen in studded leather and snakeskin printed skinny jeans to promote the company’s new ScandalEyes Rockin’ Curves Mascara.
“No one does edgy rock chick style like Rimmel ambassador Kate Moss,” a spokesperson for the beauty brand commented.
