Katie Holmes reportedly doesn’t want to become a “slave” to exercise.
The 35-year-old actress has changed shape dramatically over the past year and recently showed off her trim bikini body on the beach in Miami.
Although Katie is said to have struggled with eating as healthily as normal during the winter, the brunette star didn’t cave in to her cravings.
“Katie has always been conscious of having a healthy diet, but never wanted to be a slave to the gym. She finds it harder in the winter when she naturally wants to eat card-heavy food like pasta,” a source told British magazine Closer.
Another reason Katie won’t spend all her time exercising is her seven-year-old daughter Suri, who she has with her ex-husband Tom Cruise. The actress makes the tot her priority rather than focusing on her body all the time.
“She’s insisted she will never spend hours down the gym trying to achieve rock-hard abs when she’d much rather spend quality time with Suri or catching up with her friends,” the insider added.
The brunette beauty has been open about her gruelling fitness regime in the past. She previously listed just a few of the activities she takes part in and confessed her cravings for treats.
“Spinning, yoga, boot-camp classes. Boot camp is hard. When I’m in a slump, a friend will text me and ask, ‘Do you want to join me?’ And I’m like, ‘Aaaargh, do I have to?’” she told Allure magazine last year. “I try to eat a lot of vegetables. In the winter, it’s hard because all I want is pasta and cookies.”
