Lip Saviours:hydrating lip balm

There’s nothing worse than having chapped lips when you’re out and about. Sometimes no matter how much product you apply the wind can leave your mouth feeling dry and sore but there are lots of lip care formulas around that are guaranteed to tackle this problem.

One of these is Neal’s Yard Organic Shea But and Rosehip Lip Formula. Everything Neal’s Yard has to offer is natural and perfect for sensitive skin. This particular product comes in tube balm form and will soften, smooth and protect your lips. By using herbal extracts as part of the ingredients it also helps repair any damaged skin.

Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm Tin is a cheaper, but just as effective, choice to deal with dry lips. Purposely made to use in “dry, cold or windy conditions” this nourishing creation contains fatty acids to hydrate your lips. With a hint of peppermint oil you’ll also experience a stimulating feel when you apply this 100 per cent natural balm. Beeswax seals in moisture to keep your lips smooth and enriched all day long, which is one of the reasons it’s Burt’s Bees most popular product.

If you also want a splash of colour while drenching your lips with moisture, Origins’ Drink Up is a hydrating lip balm that comes in a range of tints. From Nude Nectarine to Plum Punch there’s a shade for all skin tones and the touch of Aloe Vera will soothe any sores you may have. Your lips will look kissable for the whole day if you apply Drink Up just a few times when one layer has been absorbed.

Clarins’ HydraQuenchMoisture Replenishing Lip Balm is a bit more of a splurge but is definitely worth it. It has a delicate pink finish and is infused with essential rose wax and sea butter to give intensive nourishment. Also, ceramides – which are a family of waxy molecules comprised of fatty acids – will fix your chapped puckers to give a flawless finish.
