L’Wren Scott ‘cancels LFW show’

British Fashion Awards, London Coliseum, London, Britain - 02 Dec 2013. London Fashion Week show is cancelled.

L’Wren Scott has reportedly cancelled her London Fashion Week show.

According to WWD, the fashion designer, who is dating Rolling Stones rocker Sir Mick Jagger, will not be unveiling her Fall/Winter 14 collection as planned. The biannual event kicks off this Friday and L’Wren was set to hold her event on Sunday February 16.

Her change of heart is said to be down to production delays, causing things to fall out of schedule.

Instead of putting on a display next weekend, L’Wren will allegedly show off her latest offering via social media, similar to how she revealed her Spring/Summer 13 range.

She also reportedly plans to reveal the pieces to fashion editors and retailers from March 2 to 5 in her Paris showroom as Paris Fashion Week comes to an end.

L’Wren’s departure marks the second of this season. Designer Rachel Zoe pulled out of New York Fashion Week, where she was due to put on a show this Thursday, to focus on looking after her two children.

She has son Skyler, who turns three in March, and baby boy Kaius, who was born in December last year, with her husband Rodger Berman. This year was the first time she was absent from the fashion calendar.

“While I look forward to New York Fashion Week each season, I’ve made the difficult decision to move our fall 2014 runway show from February 13 in New York to a later date in Los Angeles,” she previously said in a statement.

“As a new mother, my newborn son is too young to travel with me and I’m unable to leave him for the amount of time required to appropriately prepare for the show in New York.”
