Marc Jacobs’ final Louis Vuitton campaign is a tribute to the designer’s muses.
The designer confirmed he is leaving the fashion house after 16 years following his Spring/Summer 14 show for the brand in October.
The spring advertisements feature will be his last and feature some of the most recognisable faces in fashion, all of who have a special place in Marc’s heart.
Catherine Deneuve, Sofia Coppola, Gisele Bündchen, Fan Bingbing, Caroline de Maigret and Edie Campbell all posed for Steven Meisel in a New York studio.
“It was a very emotional shoot, and I find this shows in the images. It’s not a melancholic campaign. It’s really celebrating women who inspire Marc,” explained Frédéric Winckler, communications and events director at Louis Vuitton.
“It’s product and people: showing a strong emotional connection between products and the people who wear them.”
The women posed in front of a simple backdrop, in dark colours, all with a Louis Vuitton bag clutched in their hands.
With Karl Templer as stylist, Guido Palau on hair and Pat McGrath on make-up, the women look natural and relaxed, showcasing the stunning Louis Vuitton designs.
Sofia looks glamorous in a sheer top, embellished with beading that drapes over her shoulders.
Her long hair is worn loose and a matte red lip, alongside porcelain skin, is the only colour to be used in this subdued shot.
French actress Catherine looks younger than her 70 years, with her blonde hair falling to her shoulders and smoky eye make-up.
Holding on to a feathered Louis Vuitton bag, Catherine’s outfit is also accessorised with feathered shoulder detail in an all black outfit.
