With festive parties in full swing, there has never been a better time to overhaul your pucker with a bold new lip colour.
We sat down with pro make-up artist Georgia Hayes to discover her top tips for perfect party lips.
“Colour is key if you want to make an impact this Christmas and New Year,” says Georgia, who has worked her magic on countless models.
“It’s a great time to really go bold with colour and change up your usual texture.
“If you’re usually a fan of sheer colour or gloss, why not think about trying out a matte lipstick which has been a massive look on the catwalks this year. I love Ilamasqua Matte Lipstick in Salacious, it’s a deep raspberry pink so will definitely turn heads. Another to check out is MAC Russian Red, which is a proper bold red. A perfect party colour!”
If you’re going to try out a matte hue, Georgia says it’s essential to make sure your lips are perfectly prepped as matte textures can be less nourishing.
“I love Philosophy‘s Kiss Me Exfoliating Lip Scrub. It’s brilliant for smoothing out lips and getting rid of dead skin,” she adds.
If a more hydrating product is on your wish list, Georgia is a big fan of moisture-packed lipsticks and nourishing gloss.
“The new Bobbi Brown Rich Lip Colour Lipsticks are great,” she says.
“They’re packed with SPF 12 and colour-saturated pigments and they’re brilliantly hydrating too.
“And Clinique‘s Chubby Stick Moisturising Lip Balms are a gloss and treatment in one.
“They add a touch of subtle colour and hydrate with mango seed butter and jojoba seed oil,” she adds.
