Rihanna is the new face of Balmain’s spring campaign.
The 25-year-old singer is set to appear in advertisements for the French label, WWD reports.
Rihanna regularly wears Balmain and her photos for them were shot in New York by Dutch photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.
The pictures will be featured in a range of fashion publications from January.
Creative director Olivier Rousteing can’t wait to see the effect Rihanna has on the label and credits her natural confidence for making Balmain stand out.
“In front of the camera, she makes you feel like she is the only girl in the world,” he gushed.
“When the woman that inspires you wears your creations, your vision feels complete.”
He also believes she is an “icon” and described her as uncompromising, fresh and modern.
One photo which gives a glimpse at the campaign shows Rihanna in a blue and gold off-the-shoulder top with chunky gold bangles as she stares at the camera.
Atelier Franck Durand was creative director of the campaign and Rihanna was styled by Mel Ottenberg.
Balmain’s Spring/Summer 14 collection was debuted earlier this year. Pieces in the range include baby-blue quilted leather trousers with gold buttons, gilded overalls and a white mini dress with long sleeves and a feathered skirt.
Rihanna visited the Balmain studios in Paris in June and posted a photo of her and Olivier on her Instagram.
Sharing her love for the designer the Bajan star wrote a caption alongside the snap.
“You are the most beautiful spirit, so down to earth and kind! @olivier_rousteing I think I’m in love!!! #Balmain (sic)” she shared.
