Dazzle with your fingertips this Christmas with shimmering nail creations.
Whether you’re a fan of glitter, sparkle or shimmer – this season is all about shine.
We caught up with top nail artist Remi Sapori to find out her tips for a memorable manicure.
“I’m like a magpie at this time of year,” says Remi, who has polished fingertips at Milan Fashion Week.
“I can’t get enough sparkle and luckily there is loads of choice when it comes to shimmering nail polishes.
“The party season is all about glitter so I like to have fun and get inventive.
“Nail art is massive at the moment and even if you’re not brilliant at painting your own nails there are tons of stencils and stick-on designs out there so there’s no excuse for not wowing with your manicure.”
From textured, glitter-dipped tips to 3D embellished creations, the 2014 runway shows have been jam-packed with super-creative talons – with Phillip Lim and Ellie Saab opting for bold metallic finishes.
So, what’s the best way to take inspiration from the runway?
“For a pretty and fashion-forward party look, I like to apply a couple of coats of Essie Nail Polish in Fiesta and then once it’s dry I use nail glue and a pair of tweezers to stick on a few little mini-diamantes for a brilliantly bling look,” says Remi.
“And if you want to make a proper Christmas effort, Nail Delights has some super-cute festive stick-on designs which might be nice for Christmas Day.
“Plus, check out Rebel Nails for some amazing stick-on nail wraps. I love the Glittering Penguin and I’ll be rocking the Gold Christmas Tree Design at the parties next week,” she adds.
