Sparkle in the spotlight with runway-inspired shimmering make-up.
From glitter-flecked lids to dazzling pouts, the runways have been twinkling for the past few seasons.
For Chanel’s Spring/Summer 2014 show, make-up artist Peter Philips used platinum silver sequins along the upper lash line and added a dazzling dose of shimmering shadow for brilliantly bedazzled eyes.
Elsewhere, John Galliano used a sparkling silver shadow that extended from the lash lines to brows to create an eye-popping look.
Meanwhile at Thakoon, Diane Kendal for NARS layered brilliant midnight blue shadow with gold holographic glitter encrusting the eyes.
There’s no doubt sparkle is a brilliantly bold look, but is it one that anyone can pull off? Or is it best reserved for supermodels?
“There are lots of ways to work this dazzling look,” insists top make-up artist Georgia Hayes.
“Sparkle-flecked liners are a good choice. They’re so much less hassle than loose glitter, which does look brilliant but is a pain; not to mention messy to apply.
“Urban Decay Heavy Metal glitter liners are brilliant, and you can use them to create a buildable level of sparkle,” she adds.
