Swapping Gowns

The Brit Awards, Arrivals, O2 Arena, London, Britain - 15 Feb 2011. Jessie J: I wish I'd switched gowns with RiRi

Jessie J wishes she’d swapped dresses with Rihanna when she had the chance.

The Price Tag singer was propositioned by Rihanna while wearing a green Vivienne Westwood gown at the 2011 Brit Awards.

The tiny dress featured off the shoulder detailing and left little to the imagination with its super short hemline. She paired the piece with spiked black heels.

“It was so short! I remember I saw Rihanna and she was like, ‘We need to swap dresses right now,’ – wait that wasn’t her accent” Jessie laughed to heatworld.com.

“She was wearing that massive flowery thing [Christian Dior Couture], if she hadn’t been wearing that then maybe. But she’s the only one that could have pulled that off. A bob with that dress… it would have looked like I was on that programme Four Weddings or Don’t Tell the Bride.

“I probably would do it now, but at the time I was so like, ‘Oh my god Rihanna is in front of me, and I’ve never been here before, and I’ve won an award and I’ve got to make a speech,’ and then I cried!”

Jessie, 25, scooped the award for Critics Choice at that year’s ceremony, and is excited about her British Female Solo Artists nomination at this year’s show, an award she’s been up for once before.

She’s also excited to see what new acts are about, and is keen to hear the emerging talent that has been produced over the last 12 months.

“I’m so excited to celebrate music and I’ve seen the change in the last four years of what’s come through and what the young people have been educated on, that’s my biggest thing. What the lyrics are saying,” she added.
