Thandie Newton’s skin has stopped “bouncing back” as she ages.
The 41-year-old actress has no problem with getting older, although she has noticed some changes in her appearance. Rather than obsessing about it, Thandie has chosen to up her beauty regime to ensure she always looks her best.
“Turning 40… felt good. It really made me stop and appreciate living life in the moment, as opposed to always looking ahead to the future,” she told Boots Health & Beauty magazine. “One thing I’ve found, though, is that my skin doesn’t bounce back quite like it used to – but in a lot of ways that’s a good thing, as it means I take much better care of it!”
The star thinks carefully about what she needs to do to stay fit as she gets older. She is determined to exercise and lead a healthy lifestyle, which she thinks impacts on every area of her home life.
“This year I’m going to concentrate on looking after myself. If you treat yourself well, you’re more interested in healthy activities, you hang out with happier people and you instinctively want to eat better,” she said.
Although she likes to look her best, Thandie doesn’t obsess about using the latest skincare innovations. Instead she sticks to what she knows and is careful about the ingredients in the creams she slathers on her face.
“My skincare routine is so simple, but I swear by it. I always make sure I cleanse my face properly, then follow with an antioxidant-rich moisturiser to help nurture my complexion and feed it with goodness,” she explained.
