Victoria Beckham would love to start a footwear line.
The brunette fashionista has her own namesake clothing label and she unveiled her Fall/Winter 14 collection as part of New York Fashion Week last weekend, although the runway show for her lower priced Victoria range was cancelled.
Victoria spoke to an audience made up of students and fans at The New School’s John L. Tishman Auditorium in the Big Apple last night.
During her talk the fashionista
“You know, I do want to start a shoe collection,” she shared excitedly. “If anybody here is a shoe designer, please do come and see me! I definitely think shoes is probably the next category that I’ll look at going into; it’s quite a competitive category but I would love to go into [it].”
Victoria continued to share who she turns to for her models’ footwear during runway productions. If she were to start a shoe line, the 39-year-old star insists she would do it the right way.
“I actually work with Manolo Blahnik on the shoes for my show every season and working with him is remarkable,” she gushed. “I think it’s very complicated. I wouldn’t just want to do a signature shoe – I’d have to make sure I’m working with the right factories…”
Victoria – whose soccer star husband has dabbled in modelling alongside his sporting career – also said she is keen to get into menswear.
“I’d love to do menswear at some point, absolutely,” she added. “I get very inspired by menswear – [my Spring 14 collection] was very inspired by men’s tailoring, and there’s the boy-meets-girl fashion message throughout the whole collection.”
