Fashion Designer Matthew Williamson & Gwyneth Paltrow Organise Charity Dinner

Vogue Pop-Up Club to celebrate 5th anniversary of Westfield London, Britain - 30 Oct 2013

Matthew Williamson and Gwyneth Paltrow have joined forces to host a charity dinner.

The pair held the evening at the Aqua Shard in London this week to raise awareness for Kids Company, a charity that provides support for vulnerable London children.

A towering Christmas tree was revealed, curated by Matthew who asked some of his famous friends to design decorations for the tree.

Sienna Miller, Mary J Blige and Gwyneth herself created exclusive baubles for the tree. Each piece will be auctioned off on eBay to raise funds for the charity.

Throughout the evening 41-year-old Gwyneth played the gracious host, regularly checking that her guests were having a good evening, reports GraziaDaily.

Gwyneth and Mathew have previously worked together on designs for Goop, Gwyneth’s lifestyle website.

“I do feel a bit Christmas elf-y,” Matthew told WWD as he spread the festive cheer to his dinner guests.

Artist Caroline Jane Harris’ bauble was too delicate to hang, as she deviated from the traditional round design.

“I wanted to use paper cuttings but wrapping a sphere was impossible, so mine’s a cube instead,” she said.

Gwyneth’s dress to the event almost matched the Christmas tree. She wore a floor-length dark design adorned with gold and blue embellishment, created by Matthew himself.
