Alexa Chung thinks New York has a very unique style.
The British fashionista has been spending time in the Big Apple to take in the city’s designers’ Fall/Winter 14 shows.
She looked chic sitting front row at Calvin Klein and Marc by Marc Jacobs and admits there’s something special about the US style.
“New York has such energy, coolness and is so relevant – and now the label Marc by Marc Jacobs is being created by British designers Katie Hillier and Luella Bartley,” she gushed to vogue.de.
“I think New York has its own, unique glamour and style. It really depends where in the city you are though: the people in the Lower East Side have a completely different look to the Central Park ladies.”
Alexa, 30, revealed she was most excited by the new designers at Marc by Marc Jacobs and the fresh Proenza Schouler line.
While watching the catwalk, she takes in the music, clothes and the location.
New York has been experiencing some super cold weather recently, which has even included snow.
While the star loves to look good, she recently revealed she’d always pick warmth over style.
“You need a good coat,” she shivered to Grazia Daily.
“I’m inspired by a ’60s dragonfly so I got a space age coat from Marc by Marc Jacobs… I was going to wear a dress but it’s too cold and no matter how good that might look in a picture, I just can’t do that to my kidneys.”
It’s likely Alexa will be sitting front row for London Fashion Week shows, which kicked off in the UK capital today.
